In recognition of the statutory duties in accordance with the provisions of the Health Safety at Work Act 1974, DMS Media Ltd (the Company) will take all reasonably practicable measures to ensure the health, safety and welfare of its employees at work.

In particular, the Company will ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable:

  • That all places under its control, where employees are required to work, are maintained in a condition that is safe and without risk to health and that the access to and from workplaces is similarly safe and without risk
  • That a safe and healthy working environment is provided, with adequate facilities and arrangements for employee’s welfare at work
  • That no hazard arises from the use, handling, storage and transportation of articles and substances used in connection with work
  • Plant and systems of work are safe and without risk to health

Further, the Company undertakes to provide information, instruction, training and supervision as necessary to enable employees to identify and to avoid hazards and contribute positively towards their own safety and health at work and that of other employees.

The company also undertakes that where employees are required to work at premises or locations over which they have no control, suitable guidance, instruction and (where necessary) additional training will be provided to ensure, as far as it is reasonably practicable, that any risks associated with their work are under control.

In addition, the company will ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, that the health and safety of persons not in the Company’s employ is not placed at risk by either the Company activities or premises or facilities made available to such people.

Arrangements for ensuring safe and healthy working conditions are a primary responsibility of the Managing Director, exercised through managerial and supervisory staff of the Company. Without detracting from this principle, the Company undertakes to provide competent technical advice on matters of health, safety and welfare at work, whenever it is necessary to assist line management in its task, through a Health and Safety Adviser.

In consideration of the foregoing, the duties of the Managing Director will include ensuring on behalf of the Company that the provisions of the policy are fulfilled.
